Medical Care
Many people, especially the middle-aged to the elderly from low-income families tend to overlook the need for medical assessment from time to time; be it due to their concern of being inconvenient, financial stability, lack of awareness, indifference or various other reasons.
Hence, PKLPP has decided to bring medical care to their “doorstep” by running a minimum of 6 free medical assessments in different underprivileged estates every year. Medical officers and staff from both government and private hospitals go beyond their call of duty to volunteer in these medical assessments to educate and encourage the community with patience, dedication and compassion.
In accordance with the approved guidelines of the Ministry of Health’s Private Medical Practice Control Unit (UKAPS), any further assessments and treatments are referred to the nearest Government Health Clinic or General Hospital of Penang.
PKLPP looks forward to expanding our medical care beyond free medical assessments as we truly believe that good health is one of life’s greatest privilege and gift. Sponsorship from medical equipment and supplies companies, contributions from companies and individuals and voluntary participation from medical officers and staff would be a great help in helping us sustain and expand our efforts in medical care.
